How do I Process an Exchange or Return?

The Studs Returns Portal makes processing an exchange or return a breeze!

For online orders, your return will be processed within 5 business days from the time we receive it in our warehouse. Once processed, we will send you a confirmation via email!

When processing an exchange, you can easily swap out an item for a similar color or different size online

Follow the guide below for a step-by-step tutorial on how to process a return or exchange!

Step 1: Navigate and enter your order details. 

In the first box you will want to enter your order number and in the second box, the email that is attached to your order. 

If you cannot locate your order number, please reach out for assistance!

Step 2: Choose an Item to Return

*Please do not create multiple returns for the same order. Select all items you want to return at the same time. If you decide you want to add items to your return, please contact us

Step 4. Choose your Return or Exchange Reason

If you would like a different variant of the earring you are returning (such as a new color or size!) you can easily exchange for the different variant by clicking into the specific reason for returning.

If your item arrived damaged, and you would simply like to replace your earring for a non-defective earring, you can select ‘Item Was Damaged’ → ‘Exchange for new Color’ → Select your original color → ‘Exchange Item’

If you want to continue to solely return your item to us for a refund OR decide you want to exchange it for a completely new earring you can click the button on the bottom, “Return and/or shop for something new!”

Step 5:  Shop with Credit, or Return for Refund

After selecting all the products you want to be included in your return, you will click the “Continue with return” button on the bottom.

After clicking “Continue with return” you will get to this screen. 

On the top, you can see the discount from this customer’s previous purchase was carried over and added to their credit if they decided to shop with their Studs credit.

If you would like to continue solely with a return of your items, please choose “Get $X.XX Refund”. This will take you to the checkout page where you can select a Studs Credit or a refund through your original payment.

Step 6. Continuing to shop with a Studs credit (applicable for exchanges only)

Once choosing an exchange, our portal will take you to a version of our website with your Studs credit listed in black on the left-hand side as shown below.

This will stay on your screen throughout your whole transaction to remind you how much you have to spend. You are welcome to spend more than your credit or less!

Step 7. Check out

Once you select which earring(s) you would like to receive, click the yellow “Checkout” button above. This will lead you to our checkout page below.

As you can see in this circumstance, the customer chose a more expensive earring to receive, so they will have to enter their credit card information in order to purchase the new earring.  You can then complete your exchange and click “Submit Return”.

*Please note that if you are processing an exchange and need it to be shipped to a different location than where your original order was sent, please contact us for assistance prior to processing your exchange!*

Step 8. If you decide you no longer want to exchange and want to process a return instead, you can remove the items from “What you’re getting” and then process a return like normal with the option of a credit or refund on the original payment method as shown below!

Can I return an in-store purchase online?

Yes! Studio purchases can be returned or exchanged online through our returns portal

To process your in-store return, you’ll need your Order Number and either the Email Address or Phone Number associated with the order.

Don’t know your order number? No problem! Reach out to us at heystud@studs.com and our team can help retrieve it!

Return options & fees:

  • Returns to your original form of payment include a handling fee (unless Return Coverage was purchased at checkout)
  • Exchanges and returns for store credit are free
  • In-studio returns are always free

We offer refunds or exchanges for fashion jewelry within 21 days of purchase.

All returns must be:

  • Unworn
  • Free of damage or signs of wear
  • In original condition
  • In original packaging

The following items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:

  • Piercing jewelry
  • Items marked as final sale
  • Free gifts or promotional items with retail value

For online returns, your return will be processed within 5 business days from the time it’s received at our warehouse. Once processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

How do I Process a Return/Exchange if I used Affirm?

Don’t worry Stud! Our return and exchange process is exactly the same, even if you are using Affirm! You can process this return/exchange like normal through our returns portal linked here!

When will I get my refund?

For online orders, your refund will be processed within 5 business days from the time we receive it in our warehouse. 

Refunds then typically take 1-5 days to reflect back onto your account statement, so hang tight!

Return & Exchange Policies

What is your return and exchange policy?

Studs offers Refunds or Exchanges* for Fashion Jewelry within 21 days of purchase. You may process a return or exchange here, or by visiting one of our Studios.

*You can process an exchange if you are looking to swap out an earring for a different color variant of the same item, or if your item arrived damaged and you are requesting a replacement. 

We offer you the option to unlock free return shipping and handling later for the eligible items in your order by paying a small returns coverage fee at the time of purchase. If you choose to pay this fee during purchase, there is no additional charge for shipping your item(s) back to us. If you choose not to pay this fee during your purchase, you may be subject to a higher shipping/handling fee later at the rates that we require on the date you ship your item(s) back to us for a return. 

Please note that this service does not exempt your order from final sale or other store policies.

All Returns must be:

  • Unworn
  • Have no signs of wear or damage
  • In its original condition
  • In all original packaging

Exclusions include:

  • Items marked as Final Sale
  • Free gifts and or promotional items with retail value

Refunds will typically appear in your bank account 3-10 business days after they have been processed.

Are Earscape Sets eligible for returns or exchanges?

Yes, you can return or exchange your Earscape Set!

Earscape sets must be returned in full in order to be eligible for a return or exchange. We do not allow returns of partial sets at this time.

Shipping

How can I track my order?

Your tracking number will be sent to you via email as soon as your order is shipped!

You can also view your tracking info by logging into your account on Studs.com, and clicking “my orders”. 

When will my order ship?

Standard Shipping Services (Outside of Holiday Shipping Periods):

Orders placed before 12pm EST will be processed and shipped the same day. Any orders placed after 12pm EST will ship the following business day!

Orders placed with standard shipping should arrive within 3-5 business days of being shipped from our warehouse. 

Orders ship from New Jersey. We do not ship on weekends.

***We can ship to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses. Standard Shipping Deliveries may take up to 45 days for these addresses.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Standard Shipping Services (Outside of Holiday Shipping Periods):

Orders placed before 12pm EST will be processed and shipped the same day. Any orders placed after 12pm EST will ship the following business day!

We do not ship on weekends. 

If your order reaches a total of $75 or more after all applicable discounts and before any tax and shipping charges are applied, we offer free standard ground shipping in the US & its territories.

*All orders over $500 require a signature upon delivery.

**All orders ship from our Warehouse in New Jersey.

My package is missing what do I do?

For issues with delivery or tracking, the easiest and quickest way to find a resolution is to reach out directly to the shipping company. Sometimes carriers will prematurely mark shipments as “delivered”, or need additional information from you to complete the delivery.

Do you require a signature upon delivery?

We only require a signature upon delivery for orders valued at $500 or more. Please keep this in mind before selecting your delivery address!

What countries do you deliver to?

We currently only ship within the U.S. CA and its territories.
